How I broke my routine, and how I’m getting back in
Just nine days ago, I wrote about my morning routine. I was full of energy and duly motivated. However, my last workout was six days ago, my last writing: four days ago. How did I break the good habits?
On Friday, I indulged myself: tough week, no training today. First moment of weakness: alarming but no permanent failure.
The most part of Saturday was dedicated to renovation work in our house. Demolishing the floor is tough and is a work out by itself. It seemed logic not to train that day. I did write, however.
On Sunday, I usually allow myself a no-training-day. Which is ok and I’d say even necessary sometimes. I feel when I do, I’m better on Mondays. However, this is already the third day in a row. No writing, no meditation — I did go for a long, brisk walk in after breakfast.
All the alarm bells should starting ringing now.
Generally, Mondays mean a new beginning, so you would think that it’s just a couple of days off-track.
But then there was: The Deadline.
I started working early in the morning to make sure the onboarding in the afternoon would go smoothly. I didn’t stop coding until 15 minutes before.
