What a freaking rush this is
In the last few days, the pace of our investment round shifted up. We now know clearly what we need, who we need and why we need it for. It’s great to see that in such a small time window, we’ve been able to take some big-impact decisions.
This is my first startup. My previous companies were small businesses. The difference lies mainly in the objectives, which is getting valuable for startups and getting profitable for all other businesses.
Indeed, as a startup, we’re not focused on profit. We are mainly trying to figure out who our ideal customer is, how we can reach them and in what way we can best help them. The price, as a function of future profits, is not our main concern. Sales however is, which might seem like a paradox.
The thing is: to be able to grow quickly in order to dominate the market and get valuable fast, you need resources. Marketing equals leads, sales equals clients, customer success equals happy clients and R&D solves problems. You need an exceptional team. Also, as a young startup you don’t have time to educate juniors. You need experts and they cost money.
In our case, we need to grow our team with a(t least one) full-stack developer, a digital marketeer and a customer success manager. Preferably in the next two — three months. It’s crazy, right? Those people cost money so we are talking with…
